Dr. Peltz provides a full range of services, from the preventive care of healthy teeth to emergency care for teeth that need attention.
Preventive Care (Exams, X-rays, Cleanings & Sealants)
Dr. Peltz is a firm believer in preventive care! She stresses the importance of getting regular check-ups. Dr. Peltz will examine your teeth, taking the minimal amount of x-rays needed to determine whether there are any underlying problems. And Dr. Peltz personally cleans your teeth – no hygienists for you! If a tooth looks like it has the potential to become decayed or cause a problem, Dr. Peltz will seal it with a dental sealant in order to prevent further decay. Dr. Peltz will work with you to develop a personal preventive plan in order to decrease your risk for developing cavities or gum disease.
Esthetic dentistry (Tooth colored fillings, tooth whitening, veneers)
Would you like to improve the appearance of your mouth? Dr. Peltz utilizes tooth colored fillings (composites) almost exclusively. In most cases, you will not be able to see where a filling has been placed! If a lot of tooth structure is missing, tooth colored inlays or onlays might be the best treatment option. Dr. Peltz has conducted research in tooth-whitening, and can help determine the whitening method that will be most suitable for your needs. If you are unhappy with the overall appearance of your teeth, porcelain veneers may be a suitable treatment for you.
Prosthodontic Dentistry (Crowns, Implants & Bridges)
If you have a very broken down tooth, a porcelain crown (also known as a cap) is often used to repair the tooth by covering it. If root canal therapy is needed, Dr. Peltz will use state of the art instrumentation in order to provide efficient and painless treatment. If you are missing a tooth, the open space can be filled with either an implant or a bridge – closing the gap, and giving you back your smile! Dr. Peltz has over thirty years of experience with prosthodontic dentistry, and she will work with you to create a healthy and functional mouth and an esthetic smile for you!
Mouthguards
Once your teeth are healthy, they may need protection during sports activities or from grinding at night. If necessary, Dr. Peltz will create a sports guard to protect your teeth from any damage during recreational activities, or a night guard to protect your teeth from damage due to teeth grinding during the night.
